I still can't believe it's time for the kiddos to head back to school....this year is going to be a milestone for me & my 2 boys.  I'm going to have 2 graduates as my oldest will graduate High School and my youngest will graduate Middle School.  I'm already stocking up on kleenexes....It's hard to believe that they are both becoming independent and moving along with their life.  I love them both dearly and are very proud of who they both are becoming.  (wiping tears)

Almost a month ago I bought 2 Gerber Daisy's that were 50% off at one of our local nursery's...Danville Gardens in hopes to replant them into a colorful flower pot.  So a couple weeks ago Dollar General had their plastic flower pots 50% off which means I bought it for $2.50!  

On one of my many trips to Lowe's I had picked up this paint....

I don't know if your Lowe's store does this but ours will put returned paint and miss-tints under the paint counter at a HUGE discount.

Celebs and fashion is a part of my everyday...I love to see what they are doing and most importantly what they are wearing.  Don't you ever wonder where you could get that awesome dress that Jennifer Aniston was wearing or those awesome shoes that JLO is sporting.  Well I know for me I may like them but I wouldn't nor could afford them if I wanted to but there are more affordable ways to get the celeb look....so here are a few celebs with some great outfits....and I've given you the more afforable option.

This weekend while drinking my morning coffee I read my new This Old House magazine.  I always seem to find inspiring articles and pics that help give me that push to get something done around the house.

Belated 4th of July

Hope eveyone had a great 4th of July....I had a great 4 day weekend and having a hard time getting back in the swing of things.  My youngest (he's 13) a few weeks ago made the State of Illinois soccer team and left Tuesday for Kansas to try out for the Regional team and will not be back until Saturday.  This has been a little tough for me (he seems to be doing better) because he hasn't ever been away from home like this before.  So far so good though and so proud of him and his accomplishments!!  My oldest (he's 17) left today for an all day concert that's about an hour and a  half away and I have been a nervous wreck....this parenting thing keeps getting harder and harder. 

Well so back to the holiday weekend....on Saturday we were invited to a party at a friends house and I wanted to make up a few goodies for the kids...found these cute printables for water bottles over @ Tweedle Dee Designs and here is what I did:

I used the water bottle labels and put them around the jars that I picked up @ the Dollar Store and while @ the Dollar Store I picked up licorice and cut and wrapped the labels around a few pieces of licorice to make it look like firecrackers.  I found the printable pinwheels over @ Disney Family Fun....they were a lot of fun to make and the kids loved them!!

Baby Withdraws

I have personally been going through baby withrdraws lately...and it's a little scary.  My oldest son will be turning 18 in November and my youngest just turned 13....my oldest of course has become very independent and is starting to take on a life of his own.  My youngest is just growing up way too fast and personally I just DON'T like it!  I have been going back and forth about having another baby...not sure that is in the cards for me but after browsing the internet I came across this crib and fell in LOVE with the whole collection!!

Bargain Find {1}

This past Memorial Day weekend my sons were in a soccer tourney in Chicago.......

This is my oldest (blue uniform).....

And

This is my youngest (needs a haircut)....

We had a great time despite the rain on Saturday which pushed back some games by 5 hours and some to be postponed until the next day....SO that meant mom got some shopping in.  :)

While at the Woodfield Mall I went into a store called Fans Edge and in their clearance area I found this...

My son is a Chicago Cubs fan and this Big Bobblehead was broken from the base.  I thought with a little super glue and some color touch up....how can I beat it.  This retails for $19.99 and was marked down to $4.95. 

So around the shoe area it needed some permanent black marker......

and then some super glue to attach it back to the base and here he is all back to good......

This is going to make a great birthday present for my soon to be teenager

I just love a bargain...he's back in the box and ready to be wrapped.

Father's Day Ideas {1}

Father's Day is gonna be here before you know it.  Sunday June 19th to be exact.  Have you started thinking about what you are going to get or do for that special dad in your life?   Growing up without a father I never got into Father's day it was just another day to me until I had children.  However now that my husband and I are divorced (not a bad thing...we get along better now than we ever did) well I don't go all out like I used to but still get him something for the boys to give him just as he does for me on Mother's Day.  So I've been looking around for some ideas and here is what I've came across so far.....warning....they are pretty cute!
